On-Deck Tools Menu
The most important device settings are reachable directly on the Stream Deck — no browser, no network access.
Opening and closing
The lower-right key is always reserved and shows the white FrenschConnection logo on black.

Hub
The menu starts with category keys only. Every setting lives one level down, which keeps the entry point identical on every deck size and leaves room for categories added later.

The category keys fill the top row left to right and wrap into the next row — a deck with more columns simply fits more of them on that row.
Hub keys carry their category hue but no state — with several settings behind each one, a single "on" tint would say nothing.
Brightness
Both brightness keys show the current value (BRT+ 70%). The level applies immediately and is written 1.5 s after the last tap. They occupy the last column above the reserved EXIT key. On a two-row deck BRT- borrows the cell to its left so the pair stays together.
On a deck with encoders, brightness moves to the last knob and the two keys are dropped, so the categories may use the full width. From three encoders on, the third knob also takes over paging through lists, which frees the two PREV/NEXT cells for entries.
Colours
The hue carries the category, the luminance carries the state — so one key reads as "network, currently off" without needing two independent colour scales. Every tone is deliberately desaturated: the menu sits next to the operating keys and must not draw attention.

Paging
A submenu is a flat list in reading order with BACK on the last slot. When a list does not fit, the two slots before BACK become PREV and NEXT. EXIT stays on the reserved key everywhere.
The NET and CTRL MODE pages use a fixed grid instead, as long as the deck has every cell they need free — there each key always sits in the same place. Where the grid does not fit (Stream Deck +), the page falls back to the paged reading order.

Each toggle carries its own address key immediately to its right, so the two halves of one setting are never read apart.
A DHCP lease arriving while the page is open repaints only the address keys.
ETH ADDR and WIFI ADDR are visible but dimmed and inert while DHCP is on — a static value would only be overwritten by the next lease renewal.
On a deck with a touch strip this page keeps only ETH DHCP/STAT, WIFI ON/OFF, WIFI DHCP/STAT, WIFI ADDR and AP ON/OFF. The full Ethernet address sits on the window in one piece, and its editor opens by touching the value or pressing the encoder below it — a key that only navigates to something already on screen is dropped. The Wi-Fi address has no field of its own on the window, so its key stays.
Static address editor
The same editor serves both interfaces; the key on the far right names the one being edited (ETH ADDR, WIFI ADDR, COMP HOST). The buffer is reseeded from that interface when the editor opens, so switching does not carry the other one's octets across.
Address, mask and gateway are edited together and written with one APPLY — applied one at a time, they would pass through states such as "new address, old gateway" that cut off everything beyond the subnet.
- The field keys carry the pending values, so the whole configuration is readable without entering each field. An empty gateway reads
GW OFF. - On a field page the selected octet is highlighted; coarse and fine steps both exist because 0–255 with a single increment would be far too many taps. Steps wrap at the ends — one step down from 0 lands on 255 and vice versa. Every step size behaves the same way, on the encoder too.
- On a deck without four free cells in the second row (Stream Deck +),
-1/+1remain and the coarse pair is dropped — without them the field could not be set at all. - The mask cycles through
/24,/16and/8on its own key; anything else stays a web UI matter.
APPLY rejects the mistakes that are easy to make on a deck and hard to diagnose later: an unusable address (0.x, 224.x and up), a mask that is not a run of ones, the network or broadcast address itself, and a gateway outside the subnet or equal to the address. 0.0.0.0 is accepted as "no gateway". The key confirms with OK or ERR.
APPLY is amber while the buffer differs from what was applied. BACK keeps the buffer; closing the menu discards it.

Whether the timecode display appears on the deck is not set here but under DISP — that page holds everything that only concerns what is shown.
Timeline list
TIME LINE opens a paged list of the configured timelines, with BACK on the last slot. Each key shows the timeline name compacted to two five-character lines; armed timelines are teal, disarmed ones carry the recall hue.
A tap arms or disarms that timeline through the same call and persistence the web UI and OSC use, and repaints only that one key.
The list is read once when the page opens. A timeline armed elsewhere while the page is open shows up correctly after leaving and reopening it.
DISP
This page carries every setting that only decides what the deck shows. Each row is offered only where the deck can actually display it, so the page never shows a switch that would have no effect.

The logo backdrop is painted into the key images and therefore exists on key decks only — the same condition the web interface reports as logoBackdropSupported. On a deck with a touch strip the key is absent.

The scan discovers QLab's OSC targets and then binds them, so it sits beside the port it shares an interface with. For the same reason it carries the same condition here as its copy on the control page: in any other mode the key would rewrite QLab targets nobody asked it to.
While the scan runs the key reads SCAN WAIT and the device LEDs play the same blue chase as the PUSH+GO QLab scan. That animation is frame-driven so UART and MTC forwarding stay live throughout. The three result counts then appear on the scan key (Q1G2 F3).
OSC listen port editor
Tapping the OSC key opens the editor for the OSC listen port — the UDP port on which the FrenschPress receives incoming OSC commands. It is the same value as OSC Input Port in the web interface.
This is not a target or output port. Where the FrenschPress sends OSC is configured per network target and is untouched here.
The value is edited in a buffer and only written by APPLY — rebinding the listener on every step would rebuild the QLab feedback subscription each time. Steps of 1/10/100/1000, because the listen ports in use are spread over the whole range. Values clamp to 1024..65535.
APPLY follows the same sequence as the settings form: QLab is unsubscribed, the value is persisted, the UDP listener is rebound, QLab is re-subscribed if it should be, and mDNS is refreshed — the port is part of the advertised osc TXT record. BACK keeps the buffer; closing the menu discards it.
CTRL MODE
The page consists of MODE plus whatever the active mode has to offer. MODE keeps the same cell in every mode, so the key under the operator's finger does not move when the mode changes.

One key per set instead of one that cycles: the set in use is then readable without pressing anything, and any set is one press away rather than up to two.

MODE and the transport key keep their cells whether the scan is there or not.
Companion Mode

The host is free text and may hold a name rather than an address. A name cannot be spread over four octet keys, so the first key then reads BY NAME; with no entry at all, NO HOST.
With a window the host and its editor are read and edited there, exactly as the network page's address is — the keys are dropped.
Preset recall
LOAD PRES lists the same presets as the web interface: the built-in empty and TC Master Clock entries, user presets and plugin presets. Names are compacted to two five-character lines (TC Master Clock renders as TC MASTE), and the currently active preset is teal. While the list is still loading the key reads LOAD WAIT, and NO PRES when the list is empty.
Selecting a preset does not recall it immediately: the next page asks for the target button set (SET A, SET B, SET C, ALL SETS), with BACK cancelling. A successful recall switches the device to Custom Mode and makes the chosen set active, so the new mappings are usable straight from the deck. The key confirms with OK or ERR.
